It was posted on one of the FFXIV website (i'm trying to find the link, it might have been deleted)
that some of the gold sellers allow players to pay to be exempted from spambot spam.
Or, if they buy gils from the spambot's website, they will be exempted from getting spammed.
It's unknown if this exemption is for just one spambot or for an entire website's spambots,
or even the parent organization of the various goldseller websites.
It's speculated that a spambot would be programmed to skip past players who "pay
for protection."
Details of this goldseller policy are unknown, as far as I can tell; eg. minimum payment,
and how many spambots the payor would be exempted from. Also unknown is
whether or not the payor would be exempted from the say/yell/shout spambots.
